As the results of Auction of IPL are out the governing authority of IPL has announced that there will be 9 teams that are going to play in this season of IPL. There will be more number of players in each team. So each team can increase their team size from 30 to 33 players. Thus there is an increase in the number of foreign players from ten to eleven but only 4 players can play the game. The teams can also have an additional salary of around $2 million. There will two more teams that are added in this IPL 2012. The one more team is Pune team. The Pune is owned by Sahara group and is all set to make mark in the tournament.

There was a rule also that 2 foreign players and 4 domestic players can retain in the same team. The leading players of the IPL Auction 2012 are Brendon McCullum, Ravindra Jadeja, Muttiah Muralitharan and Mahela Jayawardene. The council of the IPL has decided that the first window for trading of players would be from December 15, 2011 to January 20, 2012. The best thing about this window is that there will be no financial cap on the trading. The IPL also had a debate that the Daredevils be will be retained by the same franchise or not.

The IPL Auction 2012 will be held on February 4, 2012 at 11 am. You can catch it on Set Max which is the official broadcaster of IPL. The players after the IPL Auction with highest paid salary in the previous years were Sreesanth (India), VVS Laxman (India) and Graeme Swann (England) with $400,000. The other players who got $300.000 are Mahela Jayawardene (Sri Lanka), James Anderson (England) and Mitchell Johnson (Australia). There were capped players and uncapped players who got $100,000 that includes Dwayne Smith, Denesh Ramdin, Ravi Rampaul, Darren Bravo (West Indies), Brag Hogg, Stuart Mac Gill, Adam Voges, Ben Cutting, James Faulkner (Australia), Ray Price (Zimbabwe), Simon Jones, Jade Dernbach (England), Kyle Mills, Jacob Oram (New Zealand) and many more. The lowest paid salary was $20,000 that was given to the players.
